Booking, Check-in & Check-out
When does my reservation become binding?
Your reservation is valid as soon as you receive written confirmation from the hotel and the required deposit has been paid. If the booking is made less than three days before arrival, written confirmation from the hotel is sufficient.
What time can I check in on the day of arrival?
Check-in is available from 3:00 PM on the day of arrival. Room access before 3:00 PM is subject to availability.
Is early check-in available?
Yes, early check-in is possible subject to availability. It includes breakfast and access to the spa area at a price of €35 per adult. This service is free of charge for children under 7 years, and children from 7 to 15 years receive a 50% discount.
What should I know if I arrive late?
If you arrive after 8:00 PM, please inform us in good time before your arrival. This allows us to prepare for your arrival in the best possible way.
What time do I need to check out on the day of departure?
Check-out is until 11:00 AM on the day of departure.
Do you offer late check-out?
Yes, late check-out is available subject to availability. This allows you to enjoy your departure day at the hotel in a relaxed way. Late check-out includes access to the spa area, lunch and afternoon Tea Time.

  • Adults: €35 per person
  • Free of charge for children under 7 years
  • Children from 7 to 15 years: 50% discount
  • On request, with extended room use: €75 per room (subject to availability)
Cancellation, Changes & Travel Insurance
What cancellation policies apply?
There is no right of withdrawal as defined by the Consumer Protection Code – however, we grant you the following cancellation terms:
  • Cancellation up to 45 days before arrival: €50 handling fee will be charged;
  • Cancellation from 44 to 14 days before arrival: the deposit (30% of the total stay) will be retained;
  • Cancellation from 13 to 7 days before arrival: 60% of the booked amount will be charged;
  • Cancellation from 6 days before arrival, no-show or late arrival: 90% of the booked amount will be charged;
  • Early departure: 90% of the cost of unused nights will be charged
If your travel plans change, we will be happy to check the possibility of rebooking. The exact conditions can be found in the “Rebookings” section.
Can I modify my reservation?
A modification of your booking is possible under the following conditions:
  • The request must be made at least 14 days prior to the originally booked arrival date.
  • The length of stay remains unchanged or is extended.
  • The new arrival date must be within 60 days of the originally booked arrival date.
The room rate will be adjusted according to the seasonal prices applicable for the new travel period.
Modifications requested less than 14 days before arrival or involving a shortening of the stay are subject to the regular cancellation policies.
A second modification of the reservation is not permitted. In this case, the regular cancellation policies apply; however, a minimum cancellation fee of 30% of the total booked price will be charged, even if the cancellation occurs more than 44 days prior to the originally booked arrival date.
How can I protect myself against cancellation costs?
We highly recommend taking out travel insurance so that you are optimally protected in the event of a short-notice cancellation or early departure.
Optionally, you can purchase the "Hotelstorno Plus" travel insurance from Europäische Reiseversicherung (European Travel Insurance) directly when paying your deposit.
Payment & Guarantee
When can I settle my hotel bill?
The remaining balance of your hotel bill can be settled comfortably at check-out on the day of departure. Upon request, you may also settle your bill the evening before your departure until 9:30 PM.
Which methods of payment are accepted?
We accept the following methods of payment:
  • Cash payments up to the legal limit of €4,999.99
  • Debit card
  • Credit card: Visa, Mastercard, American Express
  • Satispay
  • Bank transfer
If paying by bank transfer, the full invoice amount must be credited to our account prior to your departure. For standard bank transfers, we recommend initiating the payment three days in advance; for instant transfers, at least one day before your scheduled departure. Please also take any bank holidays into account.

How can I pay the deposit?
The deposit can be paid conveniently by credit card within your personal offer area.

Please state "deposit" as the payment reference, along with the reservation number and/or the name under which the reservation was made. This allows us to clearly allocate your payment.
Pets
Are dogs allowed at Hotel Engel and how much does the stay cost?
Yes, dogs are welcome at Hotel Engel upon request. We charge €25 per day, excluding food.
Please be sure to inform us directly at the time of your very first inquiry or booking if you wish to travel with a dog. As generally not all breeds can be accepted, prior consultation and confirmation from us is strictly required.
We are happy to provide a Premium Dog Bed – a high-quality, comfortable dog mattress – as well as a food bowl for your dog.
Where are dogs not allowed?
Dogs are not permitted in the dining room, the spa area, or other common areas of the hotel. However, upon request and subject to availability, we are happy to provide you with a table in the bar area, where your dog can accompany you.
Who is liable for damages?
The dog owner is liable for any damages caused by the dog.
Transportation & Parking
Is parking available at the hotel?
Yes, free parking spaces are available directly at the hotel.
A garage is also available upon request and subject to availability for an additional fee. The price is €18 per day.
Are there charging stations for electric cars?
Yes, EV charging stations are available at the hotel. The price is €0.60 per kWh.
Will I receive a Guest Pass for public transport?
Yes, guests receive the Südtirol Guest Pass digitally directly upon check-in. This allows you to use public transport in South Tyrol free of charge during your stay.
Does the hotel organize transfers from the train station or airport?
Yes, we are happy to arrange a private transfer from Bolzano train station or the airport to the hotel for you. This service is available for an additional fee.

Is free Wi-Fi available?
Yes, free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
Are newspapers and reading facilities available at the hotel?
The hotel features a library as well as a reading room equipped with current daily newspapers. If you require a specific newspaper, we will be happy to obtain it for you upon request. Please note that additional charges may apply.
Is smoking allowed at the hotel?
All rooms at Hotel Engel are strictly non-smoking. We kindly ask you to refrain from smoking on the balconies as well.
Smoking is permitted only in the following designated areas:
  • In front of the hotel entrance
  • In the Cigar Lounge
  • On the bar terrace

What are the restaurant opening hours?
Culinary delights accompany you throughout the entire day – from breakfast to dinner. An overview of our key dining hours:
Breakfast: 7:30 AM–10:30 AM
Lunch: 12:30 PM–2:00 PM
Tea Time: 3:00 PM–5:00 PM
Dinner: 6:45 PM–8:30 PM
What are the opening hours for EngelSPA, pools, and the fitness room?
The EngelSPA invites you to arrive, breathe deeply, and relax throughout the day. The individual areas are open during the following hours:
  • Indoor pool: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, approx. 30 °C
  • Outdoor pool: approx. 32 °C
    Summer: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
    Winter: 7:00 AM–10:00 AM and 3:00 PM–7:30 PM
  • Relaxation areas, Kneipp, and infrared: 10:00 AM–7:30 PM
  • Bio sauna and steam bath: 12:00 PM–7:30 PM
  • Finnish sauna: 3:00 PM–7:30 PM
  • Fitness room: open 24 hours a day (around the clock)
Is there a family sauna?
On Thursdays and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the sauna area becomes a shared wellness time for families.
During these hours, children and teenagers under the age of 16 are welcome to enter. The steam bath, bio sauna, Kneipp, and infrared areas are open as a swimwear-only area.
