Stars in the culinary firmament

The Johannesstube gourmet restaurant

The idea behind “taste nature” is that of really tasting nature in all its forms. Blossoming, fragrant, high-quality ingredients from the forests and meadows around Welschnofen are the highlights on the plate, with the artistry that goes into each dish revealed at every bite. Because the work of chef Theodor Falser is indeed a culinary art – full of flavour and pleasing to the eye. Eating in the award-winning Johannesstube is to enjoy heavenly cooking among the (Michelin) stars.
Fresh - regional - masterful! What is not grown or made here is obtained from the farm next door or from selected suppliers. Product quality, sophisticated preparation and a passion for detail all characterise the dishes served up in the Johannesstube. Every aspect is intended, considered and perfected. Exquisite ingredients are combined to create a masterful whole – with the appropriate wine to add the finishing touch to a special dinner.
The Johannesstube: a culinary backdropThis romantic, ancient dining room, lined with pinewood, is the perfect setting for a culinary master class: warm, gentle lighting, large windows and white, lace-trimmed tablecloths. The ambience at the Engel is perfect too, in the midst of the Dolomites surrounded by meadows, forests and mountains. An all-round experience, from the lovingly decorated tables to the friendly, professional service.
