Since 1862

The story of Hotel Engel begins in 1862 in Welschnofen / Nova Levante, in the heart of the Eggental valley. It was here that the great-grandparents of the Kohler family opened the first guest rooms in their own home. From this lived hospitality, a hotel grew over generations – still family-run today. Over time, Engel has continued to evolve: from a traditional inn into a family and spa resort in the Dolomites. Many ideas that feel natural today were embraced here early on, always with one wish at heart: to offer guests a special alpine retreat in the mountains.

The Kohler family

Today, Hotel Engel is run by the fifth generation of the Kohler family. Luis and Carmen Kohler, together with Johannes and Matthias, shape the evolution of the house by bringing together long-standing experience, fresh ideas and contemporary impulses. At the heart of everything is the same attitude that has guided Engel for generations: creating a warm atmosphere where guests feel welcome, cared for and truly at ease.

By air: Bolzano Airport (20 km) and Verona Airport (150 km) offer convenient connections from many European cities.

By car: Reach Nova Levante comfortably via the Brenner motorway (A22). Free parking available at the hotel.
