Johannesstube goes Abu Dhabi
A bit(e) of South Tyrol in the Orient

It is November, and the temperature in Abu Dhabi is around 30°C. The crowd at the Yas Marina circuit roars as the contenders for the Formula 1 World Championship fight it out to win the fiercely contested last race. All tickets were sold weeks, even months ago. It is the ideal place to present your product, with champagne, smart cars, the latest fashions. Or indeed with excellent haute cuisine. Because here can be found everyone who is anyone, including someone who already is (and has) a star in the culinary firmament of South Tyrol: Theodor Falser and the kitchen team from the Johannesstube.

From 23 to 26 November the Johannesstube will be moving from the Hotel Engel to the Middle East, taking with it literally almost everything but the kitchen sink. Here, in the Restaurant Amici at the 5-star Yas Viceroy luxury resort, right on the Yas Marina Circuit during the last race of the Formula 1 World Championship, the Johannesstube is opening a pop-up restaurant!

The task is to serve culinary delights to 2,000 hungry people a day for four days. On the menu are dishes in the Johannesstube’s typical epicurean style. The nature of the event means that the guests expected will predominantly consist of sheikhs, ambassadors, sponsors and businesspeople. “But we are of course open to all!”, says Theodor Falser. So, if you - yes, you – find yourself at the Formula 1 circuit at the end of November in Abu Dhabi, perhaps part of the roaring crowd, come on in and savour a little bit – or even a bite – of South Tyrol.
